“I want to share my testimony of the true restored Church of Jesus Christ.  I am so blessed to have the gospel in my life;  I have seen many miracles in my life recently as a result.  I am grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and would not have progressed spiritually if I did not have the Atonement.  I know that Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ live.  They are there to take upon the many trials and tribulations that occur in one’s life and ease our burdens.  In Matthew it says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.   For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. “  That promise gives me an enormous sense of peace.

I know that Thomas S. Monson is our modern day prophet and he is a seer and revelator.  Through our righteousness we can be sealed to our families forever.   I love the power of the Priesthood and have witnessed many blessings it has brought in my life.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. “

“When I was younger I had a very low opinion of myself.  I didn’t think I was pretty or smart, and I honestly didn’t think I mattered to anyone – including my family or friends.  I thought I was very forgettable, and very unimportant.  I don’t remember how old I was, but one Sunday the chorister taught us the words to “A Child’s Prayer.”   “Pray he is there.  Speak he is Listening.  You are his child.   His Love now surrounds you. “   When I heard those words, my whole life changed.   I felt a burning in my heart and for the first time ever I felt completely at peace.   My self esteem didn’t automatically improve, but I knew without a doubt that I had a Heavenly Father and that he loved me.  My testimony is based on this love.  I know my Heavenly Father lives and that he loves all of his children.  He wants us to be happy and has given us a Savior so we can be.  I know that we have a Savior Jesus Christ.  I know that in the Garden of Gethsemane, not only did he atone for our sins, but he experienced all of our pain, grief, and heartache so we would never have to face life alone.  And after all of that, he loved us enough to die for us.  I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there, listening and waiting for us to invite them into our lives.  I feel their love constantly, and you can too.”

“A testimony is so personal and yet it isn’t until it is shared that you can feel content, and “whole”.  It’s pure joy.   So I share even with the fear that it may not be received as the treasure it is to me.

I know there is a God in Heaven that loves me.  I am filled with an unspeakable calm every time I think about or speak those words.  Through study, prayer and personal revelation I have come to know He has a plan for us.  We have been sent here to gain a body (like His) and to use our agency to gain experience so we will feel and truly know sorrow and joy.  He knew we would make mistakes and so He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer and die for all sins.  By doing this, justice is satisfied and by His mercy, you and I can choose to give up our sins through repentance, so that we may be clean and be able to return to Him.

I know Heavenly Father wants us to know this plan.  He wants us to make choices that will bring us closer to Him.  Jesus Christ taught the plan and all we would need to know.  He organized His church on earth and gave His apostles the priesthood authority or the power of God to act in His behalf.  I know this authority was lost after those apostles died but He has restored His church, in it’s entirety, through a humble prophet named Joseph Smith.  I know He continues to lead His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today by revealing His will to a humble prophet and apostles, just as He did in ancient times.  The spirit confirms this truth.  I feel it when I hear them speak.

I know I’d be lost without the scriptures to remind me of Christ’s teachings.  I know that the Bible is true and that there is a second witness that testifies of Jesus.  This witness is the Book of Mormon.  I have read it and prayed to know if it was true.  Heavenly Father answered my prayer through the Holy Ghost or Spirit by flooding my soul with an indescribable peace.  This pattern of praying and having it revealed or confirmed to us is the tool that we can use to gain a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.

I believe that this simple knowledge is the key to unlock happiness.  It inspires me to want to repent daily for my mistakes and to just make better choices.  I want to live with my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ’s love and peace for eternity with my family.  I know it is possible and pray to be worthy of the countless blessing that this knowledge gives me here and now.  I’m grateful and hope that this gratitude will lead others to seek for this happiness and to know these truths for themselves.  This is my treasure that I freely share and testify of in the name of my Beloved Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.”

“My baptism and confirmation were amazing.  I remember the complete peace, security, and joy I felt.  I had never felt that before and I knew that the hole I once had was filled;  I was whole.  I didn’t have to search anymore.  I had found everything I needed to be happy.  I know that my decision to be baptized and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the right one. “

“”My testimony is one of the most precious gifts I own.   I say “own” because it is mine and mine alone.   It was gained by doing exactly what Moroni 10:4 in the Book of Mormon asks us to do.  Pray and ask Heavenly Father if it is true.  I did just that when I was in college, and wanted to know the truth for myself.  I found myself on my knees in my dorm room and no sooner did the words come out of my mouth as the greatest feeling of peace came over me.  I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs that the church was true, and that Moroni’s promise is sure.

I am so grateful for that experience and many others that remind me “line upon line” about what is true and good.  I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true.  We have a prophet of God on this earth and the first prophet of this dispensation, Joseph Smith, saw Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.  I pray anyone who wonders if the Church is true will do just as Moroni challenges us to do…and pray and wait for that still small voice to confirm to you, just as he did to me that one night long ago in my dorm room.  I know he will answer your prayers too.”

“To make a long story short, after much prayer and studying, and then attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the spirit spoke to us both and let us know what we were reading WAS true;  the Book of Mormon was in fact the word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ had been restored in its fullness to the earth once again before the second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  I thank God for the preacher who invited the missionaries to his home, or else they would have never found our house and helped to turn it into a real, eternal home.”

“Because of this Church, I have received many blessings from my Heavenly Father.  He has filled so many empty spaces in my life and has given me new direction.  He has even given me a new family to fill an empty space from long ago.  There are not enough words to express my gratitude to this church and this gospel.  It has been a miraculous change in my life.  May Heavenly Father walk by your side and bless your life as He has mine.”

“I have a testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth by the prophet Joseph Smith.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to see the fruits of living the gospel in my life.  I know the atonement really happened and that it has power to heal and change our lives.  I know that Christ lives, even at the right hand of God.  The spirit fills my heart as I read the Book of Mormon, confirming the truthfulness of it to me.  I can feel the Savior’s love for me when I am trying to live in accordance with His teachings confirming that I am a beloved daughter of God…and so are you.  This gospel is truly a blessing and a miracle.  I am grateful.”

“On August 27, 2011, I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Although my journey is only beginning, I have learned so much in the short time I have been a member. I am so grateful for the confirmation that there really are beautiful families…which I hope to one day have for myself. Words cannot express how truly happy I feel, how truly grateful I am to have the gospel, and the joy I feel in being a member of Christ’s restored church. It is a true miracle to have gained such a testimony! I hope that through my experience others can recognize and seek the happiness that I have found.  This is my testimony of the gospel.”

“Moving over 2000 miles away from our family and friends in order to fulfill the will of God was the most difficult decision Chad and I have made in our marriage. Our faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ was the only factor that made that transition possible!

“Like many Mormons in the west, I was born and raised in the church.  Every Sunday I went to church with my family and participated in all of the church activities.  At home my parents were teaching us the gospel and although imperfect, we would try to read from the Book of Mormon every morning.  Needless to say, my entire life was centered around the gospel.

When I reached the age of fourteen, I remember sitting on my bed in my room with the scriptures in my lap, wondering if all I had been taught was true.  I opened up my scriptures and started to read.  While reading an amazing feeling of love came over me and I knew then, that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration, that he did see Heavenly Father and the Savior, Jesus Christ.  I knew that they loved me very much.  I sat on my bed and cried with tears of joy because I knew with certainty that Heavenly Father knew the concerns of my heart.  I know that He answers prayers when we have a sincere desire to follow Him and do what is right.

I love the Lord and am grateful for His constant help throughout my life whether I feel His presence or not.  I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His true church upon the earth today.  The only way anyone can know with surity of these things is to ask God, the Eternal Father if these things are not true.  When we ask with a sincere heart, He will answer our prayers.”

“Often times when I am asked to write my testimony of the gospel, I feel much like the prophets of old, ‘I [am not] mighty in writing, like unto speaking; for when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of man.’  (2 Nephi 33:1).  That is my prayer, that all those who seek to know the truth will allow the Holy Ghost to enter into their hearts that they ‘may know the truth of all things’ (Moroni 10:5).

This is how I came to know the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true.  Prayer is an amazing gift given to us from our Father in Heaven.  Think about it.  The most powerful, all-knowing being invites each one of us to kneel and pray and talk with Him.  I am thankful for the honor and privilege I have to pray to Him each day, each hour and each minute if necessary, and know that He will forever answer.

I know the Bible to be the word of God and I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ.  I know Joseph Smith was called by God to restore the church of Jesus Christ.  I know we have a living prophet upon the earth today –Thomas S. Monson.  I know that God hears and answers prayers;  He has answered mine.  I invite you to read, ponder and pray about the Book of Mormon and ask God if these things are not true (Moroni 10:4).  Myself and millions of others stand as living witnesses that these things are true.  I share this with you in the name of Jesus Christ.”
